Ingredients
- Chicken, 120g, boiled
- Chicken broth, 1 cup
- Instant oats, ½ cup (50g)
- Mixed lentil flour, ¼ cup
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- Garlic-ginger paste, 1 tbsp
- Red paprika (adjust to taste), 1 tsp
- Turmeric, 1 tsp
- Garam masala, 1 tsp
- Salt (adjust to taste), 1 tsp
- Oil, 1 tsp
- Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish
Method
- To prepare the broth, add 2 cups of water to a pan along with your chicken. Boil the chicken until it becomes tender, and the water has reduced to 1 cup.
- Remove your chicken from the broth and set the broth aside.
- Separate the chicken meat from the bones and shred it (you can do this using 2 forks).
- In a large pot, add the shredded chicken, chicken broth, instant oats, lentil flour, chopped onion, garlic-ginger paste, garam masala, red paprika, turmeric and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- In a small pan, heat 1 tsp of oil.
- Once your oil is hot, pour it over your cooked mixture (this tempering will help bring out the flavours of the dish).
