Apple halwa

Ingredients
- 2 fresh sweet apples, peeled and chopped
- Raisins, 12g
- Unsalted butter, ghee or olive oil, 1 tbsp
- Stevia, 1 tbsp
- Vanilla essence, ½ tsp
- Cinnamon powder, ½ tsp
- Chopped almonds for garnish
Method
- Heat the ghee, butter or olive oil in a pan over a medium heat. Add the chopped apples and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook for a further 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the lid and mash the softened apples with a spatula or masher.
- Add the stevia, ground cinnamon and vanilla essence, and cook for 7-10 more minutes (until the mixture releases ghee, butter or oil at the corners).
- Add the raisins, stir through, then remove from the heat and transfer to a serving dish.
- Garnish with the chopped almonds and serve hot.
